Founding General Manager / GTM Lead, Daffy for Work

Summary

Daffy is a mission-driven organization focused on helping people be more generous, more often. We are now hiring our first sales lead and general manager for our innovative Daffy for Work product, used by over a dozen companies across the US including industry giants like OpenAI. Daffy for Work is like a 401(k) for charity, allowing companies to match contributions by their employees, tax-free, with cash, public stock, or private stock.

There are over 1 million employees who work for private, venture-backed unicorns in the US alone, representing over $4.5 trillion in wealth trapped in private stock. Daffy’s innovative private stock donation program allows employees to donate that stock to charity, get valuable savings on their taxes, and opens up that wealth to support charities around the world.

We're looking for a Founding General Manager / GTM Lead to help build out the Daffy for Work business from the ground up. This isn't a role where you'll inherit a mature sales process, a perfectly defined territory, and years of historical data telling you exactly how to win. You'll be responsible for closing new business while helping us figure out how Daffy should sell: which customers we win with, how we create urgency, how we navigate HR & finance organizations, what makes deals move, and how we turn those learnings into a repeatable sales motion.

This role is for an ambitious business leader looking for an innovative and entrepreneurial environment and the opportunity to take these products and build a $100M+ business with founder-level ownership and responsibility for the revenue line.

The Role

This role will be about taking an innovative product that is winning in the marketplace, and building a scalable go-to-market motion selling into companies from 500 to 5,000 employees. Responsibilities include:

  • End-to-end ownership of Daffy for Work and Daffy Private Stock Program revenue

  • Ownership of the full sales cycle for Daffy for Work including prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing employer partnerships

  • Management of the pipeline of workplace giving and private stock donation opportunities

  • Primary relationship owner for employer partners after the deal closes through onboarding, adoption, expansion, and renewal

  • Trusted advisor to HR, benefits, equity, and legal/tax stakeholders

  • Partner with product and engineering to build the tools and workflows needed to win and support employer clients

  • Translate customer and market feedback into clear product priorities

  • Define and iterate on go-to-market strategy for workplace giving and private stock donation programs.

  • Represent Daffy for Work externally with prospects, partners, and at industry events

Experience

We are looking for an ambitious and entrepreneurial business leader with a passion for building out new businesses and scaling them to unprecedented levels.

5-8 years of relevant enterprise sales experience, ideally including large, private venture-backed companies.

Direct experience selling and/or managing partnerships with Finance and HR organizations

Comfortable building out & executing the full sales funnel, from prospecting to closing.

Bachelor’s degree required. MBA considered a plus.

Our ideal candidate will also have some (or all) of the following:

  • Experience with private stock, angel investing, and/or venture-capital

  • Experience at a company that provides tools or services to employers (HR tech, benefits platforms, equity/stock plan administration, payroll, or similar)

  • Experience with workplace giving, equity compensation, or employee benefits programs

  • Experience working closely with product and engineering teams to shape roadmap

  • Familiarity with donor-advised funds or the charitable giving space

  • Experience selling to HR, People, Legal, or Total Rewards teams

About you

  • Mission-driven and excited to make Daffy's vision to a reality

  • Ready for a founding team role and responsibilities

  • Hungry to build and grow a business line from scratch, comfortable with ambiguity

  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally

  • Growth mindset & coachable (open to learn even if you don't know something)

  • Eager to collaborate with others and work on a distributed team

  • Comfortable being the face of a product line with customers, partners, and internally

Location

We have a preference for candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area, who can come into the office in Los Altos at least once per week.

What's In It For You

  • The opportunity to grow a business line for one of the Top 10 donor-advised funds in the country, now managing over $2 billion in charitable assets.

  • The chance to work with world-class founders, Adam Nash (Apple, eBay, LinkedIn, Wealthfront) and Alejandro Crosa (LinkedIn, Twitter, Slack), and a talented team united by a bold mission.

  • A transformative role that could directly help raise billions of dollars for charitable organizations.

  • A supportive, motivated team that cares deeply about our mission & our members.

  • An absurd amount of branded t-shirts and SWAG.
