In memoriam

About Copy Love.

Alexey Kopylov — known to many as @copylove — was one of the founding UX and customer-experience thinkers in our part of the world. A pioneer of Customer Journey Mapping, a generous teacher, a stubbornly clear-eyed practitioner.

He passed away on March 31, 2026.

Years back, Alexey sat with me at the earliest idea of how I wanted to change hiring — just a rough concept, no product, no name — Lesha was one of the first people who said:

“this makes sense, let's work on it”

We ran dozens of sessions together. Some of them while he was lying in a hospital bed on dialysis.

He showed up every time.

What grew out of that early concept is talenthunt.

We didn't get to ship it together.

But the most personal part of what I'm building — the AI mentor that reads your profile and delicately tells you what's missing, what's unclear, what could land stronger — carries his name.

It nudges in the direction Alexey would have nudged. Less is more. Be specific. Don't hide the work. Don't pretend to be something you're not. Show, then explain.

If you knew him, you'll recognize him in the tone.

It will be named Copy Love — his nick, his way.

— Mike Daykhin, founder of talenthunt
