Fincrime Product Owner
CoinGate · Vilniaus, Lithuania
About CoinGate
CoinGate is a Lithuanian fintech company founded in 2014. We specialize in creating innovative payment solutions, making it easy and convenient for businesses to pay and get paid with cryptocurrencies and stablecoins. With over a decade of experience and now a MiCA license, we've established ourselves as one of the leading players in our space, yet we're only getting started.
As a Fincrime Product Owner, you'll be responsible for the entire fincrime technical domain, acting as a mini-CEO with full ownership of planning, delivery, vendors, risks, product performance, and customer experience (including the main users of your product – other teams at CoinGate). You’ll own the systems that decide who we onboard, what we let through and what we report – KYB onboarding, transaction monitoring and screening, Travel Rule and regulatory reporting, and the internal tooling our fincrime team works with every day. You'll report to the CEO, work day-to-day with our Platform Product Lead and Head of Fincrime, and lead a team of two engineers.
This is a hands-on role in a company of ~55 people. You'll set the roadmap, scope and write the requirements and ship, and you'll be measured on onboarding conversion, false-positive rates, analyst hours saved and clean audits — not on tickets closed.
What you'll do:
- Own the fincrime product roadmap end-to-end, from problem framing and prioritisation to delivery, launch and post-launch monitoring.
- Own all backend fincrime systems and integrations end-to-end, from vendor research, selection, implementation, calibration and monitoring, spanning across transaction monitoring, sanctions/PEP screening, blockchain analytics, live identification.
- Define and track the metrics for the domain – like onboarding conversion and time-to-verify, alert precision, analyst throughput, remediation backlog – and use them to decide what to build next.
- Lead a team of two engineers: plan and prioritise team backlog, scope work with engineers and engineering manager, and push delivery.
- Work closely with the Platform and Business Product teams to make the Fincrime layer an enabler for the business: from designing a modular KYB onboarding interface that helps reduce manual work without loosening the controls, to integrating each customer facing product with appropriate fincrime rules and controls.
- Work closely with the Head of Fincrime, MLRO, Risk and Compliance officers to turn regulatory requirements (MiCA, AML/CTF/Sanctions, Travel Rule) into working product and reporting flows.
- Work closely with the First Line of Defence teams to build and automate the internal tooling and backoffice systems our fincrime analysts use daily.
What we're looking for:
- 4+ years in product ownership or product management, with at least part of it in a regulated fintech, payments or crypto environment.
- Hands-on experience shipping fincrime, compliance or risk products: onboarding/KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, screening, fraud or similar.
- Working knowledge of AML/CTF requirements and how they translate into product decisions; MiCA or Travel Rule experience is a strong plus.
- Proven ability to lead engineers: writing clear requirements, scoping technical work and holding a team to delivery. Alternatively, past engineering or other technical experience.
- Strong analytical skills – comfortable in data, defining metrics and making trade-offs between risk, cost and user experience.
- Fluency with AI tools for analysis, automation and everyday problem-solving. We use them daily.
- Strong ownership mindset, ability to navigate ambiguity, and solid stakeholder management skills, so you can work independently across compliance, engineering, legal and operations.
What we offer:
- A modern office in the heart of Vilnius with convenient parking.
- Additional health insurance or a monthly wellness allowance, choose the option that suits you best.
- Employee discounts and referral bonuses.
- Extra wellbeing days.
- Engaging team-building activities and occasional workations in Lithuania and abroad.
- The opportunity to influence decisions and make an impact beyond your own function.
Salary:
4500 - 7000 €/monthly gross.
We are open to discussing a different salary based on your skills and experience.
